Buyer Beware

Buyer BewareMany Japanese and Canadian companies are trying to sell mini trucks to North America. Anyone can go online and buy a container of trucks or other vehicles. Some are very reputable, many are not. We have spoke with many people who have sent money away and waited for up to 6 months before seeing their vehicles-and then when they did arrive they were not worth purchasing.  Once you send your money to Japan there is no getting it back. They are sending trucks with bad engines and transmissions. They will show you pictures of one truck and send you a different one. Trucks coming from Northern Japan are very rusty (holes in the bed and frame). You will see advertising for Japanese auction houses and the export company will send you pictures from the auction-pictures can not show the true condition of the vehicle. You need a company who actually physically checks each vehicle in person-which is very difficult to do when dealing in volume. Samurai Trucks is small enough to offer this much needed service but large enough to stand behind our purchases with confidence. We have choosen to grow at a pace where we do not have to resort to buying vehicles via the internet like 95% of our competitors.

As the popularity of mini trucks and all Japanese vehicles continue to grow, you will see more Japanese and Canadian companies trying to sell trucks that should be used for parts or scrapped. Be careful, buy from us and know you are getting the best mini trucks available.

Also there are some companies offering "totally refurbished trucks" and some are converted to left hand drive and converted to extended or jumbo cabs. We have checked out some of the  companies offering these vehicles and all we can say is please check the vehicles thouroghly. Ask them what is meant by "totally refurbished". They will have new paint and undercoating and from afar they look nice. These trucks are being purchased in Japan in less than optimal condition for very cheap. They are then cut in half so more can be packed into a sea can and then sent to the Phillipines. In the Phillipines they are welded back together (will not pass insurance or safety in Canada), or if they do pass and then you are in an accident and it is discovered they were pieced together vehicles, good luck with your insurance company. We have had offers from these companies to distribute their trucks and we refuse to-we were curious as to what price they would offer them to us so we acted interested. The price they would sell us the trucks for only proved to us that they were originally purchasing scrap/written off trucks in Japan and they had to use two trucks to make one so that is why they are all repainted. New paint and upholstery do not make a "refurbished" vehicle. Please don't take a chance with a vehicle you are spending your hard earned money on. In one of these "refurbished" vehicles driving down the highway with your family members, you are putting everyone including other drivers in danger. A  shiny paintjob and fancy upholstery does not make a half cut truck a quality one.
